We build for
the hardest
problems.
RedRatchet Inc. creates software for organizations where the stakes are real — operational resilience, enterprise governance, and the interaction paradigms that come next. Founded by practitioners. Built without compromise.
Rooted in the work.
Built for what's real.
RedRatchet was founded by someone who spent over a decade inside some of the most demanding technology environments in the world — leading incident response, advising on security architecture, and building operational infrastructure for teams where the margin for error is measured in minutes.
That work makes certain things obvious. Incident response fails for structural reasons. Security tooling misses the vulnerabilities that actually matter. Quality gates collapse under deadline pressure. These are solvable problems — they just haven't been solved by the right people yet.
RedRatchet was built to close that gap. Every product starts from a specific failure mode we've seen firsthand — and works backward from there. Pawl came from watching structured incident command work — and watching the absence of it cost organizations dearly. Detent came from a clearer view than most of where AI interaction is heading, and what platform-level tooling needs to exist to get there safely.
The work is precise, the architecture is honest, and nothing ships until it fits the environment it's actually going into.
- Enterprise Infrastructure & DevOpsDeep hands-on background across distributed systems, cloud architecture, and operations at enterprise scale.
- Critical Incident CommandLed incident response for major technology organizations — coordinating cross-functional teams through high-stakes, high-pressure outages.
- Security & ComplianceHands-on experience with federal compliance frameworks, secure architecture design, and regulated environment deployments.
- Technology Cost & Strategy AdvisoryAdvised organizations on infrastructure optimization, vendor strategy, and technology investment decisions across complex environments.
Two products.
Different problems.
Same standard.
Our portfolio addresses operational resilience at the enterprise level and the next frontier of human-computer interaction. Each product is purpose-built — no overlap, no filler.
A structured incident governance platform for environments where improvised communication fails and compliance is non-negotiable. Role-based command, immutable audit trails, and a deployment model that works inside any perimeter.
Learn about Pawl →Detent is a foundational piece of IP at the intersection of AI and human interaction — built to integrate at the platform level. It does something that wasn't previously possible. More details coming soon.
Learn about Detent →Principles we
actually ship under.
These are the constraints that shape every architecture decision, product choice, and line of code.
We don't start with a technology and find problems for it. Every product begins with a specific, validated failure mode — and we build backward from there. Sometimes that means AI at the core. Sometimes it means deliberately leaving AI out. The problem decides.
Every product we build is informed by direct experience in the environments we're targeting. We've coordinated incident response under real pressure. We've seen where security tooling misses. We've watched AI systems get deployed before anyone pressure-tested how they actually behave.
How a system is built determines what it can do, where it can run, and who can trust it. We treat architecture as a first-class product decision. The environment dictates the architecture.
We build narrow products that do one thing exceptionally well. The ratchet metaphor is intentional — each click of progress is deliberate, mechanical, and irreversible. We'd rather ship something precise than something broad.
AI adds capability and introduces risk. Isolation adds security and reduces flexibility. Every architectural choice trades something. We're explicit about what our products trade, who they're built for, and where they draw lines.
Our products are designed to be explained, reviewed, and defended. Compliance, accountability, and transparency aren't features we add at the end. They're constraints we build under from the start.
